Logo Design – Nailed It Building. This one I had total creative licence over, in fact. I find it best when I don’t even talk to the owner and find I do my best work out of doing what I want to do, not what I have been told to do. This logo design was no exception. The client loves it, what more could I ask. In fact he said in his own words “my friends think it’s too flash for me”. I took this as a compliment, and promptly made him a flash website too. Can check that out here: NIBLtd.co.nz.

My friends think it’s too flash for me.

I have taken the liberty of showing you how I cam to this solution.

Below is where I received my inspiration.

Logo Design - Nailed It Building

Had my hair cut the other day. Thought about how much I liked the look of barber shop logos. Retro ones in this case. Thought the next logo I am going to do it going to be based on this – because I wanted it to be 🙂

No complaints from the client of course. I started off designing one to be close to the orange-circled logo above. You can see this is the first image of progression below.

Logo Design Progression - Nailed It Building

Progression of this logo design. Image 1, introduced a nice script font with a hammer.

Two, started orientating it differently to see what is it’s best angle.

Three, thought, hmmmmm, think I can add a hand on this hammer. Oooo, and what could be cool if I could hit one of the letters in the word. So here’s me hitting things.

Four, five and six have it as well. ‘Til finally, I nailed it (sorry, just had to), in the final version.

Bob’s your uncle, fanny’s your aunt you have a happy client. Cheers Sam, from Nailed It Building Ltd, for being a quality client.
